ENDORSEMENTS FROM PASTORS, HUSBANDS, AND LEADERS
I am so thankful for the editorial reviewers of Marriage is Worth the Fight. Honestly, I’m humbled by the godly men who took the time to read the manuscript and offer their endorsement. It was important to me to invite leaders who not only understand biblical truth but also live it out in their own marriages. Their encouragement, insight, and affirmation mean more than I can say—and I pray their words will give you confidence in the message of this book.
Derick Amsler, Lead Pastor, Crossroads Church
Is marriage still worth it? In a world where commitment is optional, divorce is common, and “happily ever after” feels like a fantasy—this book says yes. Emphatically.
Marriage is Worth the Fight is part testimony, part battle cry. Josef Kauzlarich doesn’t claim to be a marriage expert—but he has been through the trenches. With humor, humility, and hard-won insight, he opens up about nearly losing his marriage—and what brought it back from the edge.
This book speaks directly to husbands:
Tired of the same old arguments?
Wondering if it’s all supposed to feel this hard?
Tempted to check out emotionally—or walk away entirely?
Don’t.
This isn’t a manual. It’s a mirror, a challenge, and a chance to rediscover what God had in mind when He invented this thing called marriage.
Marriage might be messy. But it’s still “worth the fight.”
Dale A. O’Shields, Senior Pastor, Church of the Redeemer
Josef’s book, Marriage is Worth the Fight, is filled with lots of practical wisdom for building not only a lasting marriage, but an enjoyable one. The chapters offer great information and, while exhaustive, it is very easy to read. The biblical content is excellent, and it is well-researched. While both husbands and wives will benefit from the content, I would highly suggest it for husbands. Overall, a great handbook filled with Bible-based, applicable information and inspiration!
Pastor Thurlow Switzer, Living Grace Ministries, Montgomery Village, MD
With humility and honesty, Josef Kauzlarich points out that marriage is a divine institution that is worth fighting for, especially when characterized by selflessness, sacrifice, mutual serving of one another and practicing forgiveness. However, he spends most of this treatise strongly spelling out the foundations of marriage that underpin success. As his pastor during Josef’s early years up to the time of his marriage, I observed his heart to worship God and to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. I knew well his parents, Josef, and his siblings. Josef accurately spells out the principles of a solid marriage, especially the principle from Micah 6:8, “to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.” This book is filled with excellent advice. I have witnessed these Biblical values in Josef’s life. I know these strong, godly foundations carried over into his marriage to his beautiful wife, Nikki. I proudly recommend this book and am thankful for Josef’s pursuit of this subject so excellently.
BJ Taylor, Pastor, Crossroads Church
Thank you for your honesty and passion about God’s first institution: marriage. I was forced to keep reading your book because of the heart wisdom, heartfelt compassion for the battle, and, most of all, your deep love for God’s infallible Word. It is both our foundation and the building blocks for a “marriage that’s made in Heaven”… and worth fighting for.
Darian Amsler, Minister & Husband
In a world where the meaning of marriage has become distorted, Josef offers a refreshing and much-needed resource for men. Marriage is Worth the Fight is more than just a guide—it speaks to the mind, touches the heart, and uses everyday examples to help men understand not just how to love their wife, but why it truly matters. This isn’t about fixing problems or checking boxes—it’s about becoming the kind of man who builds his marriage on strength, humility, and intentional love.
Pastor Daniel Switzer, Ed.D.
Marriage is Worth the Fight shares with husbands exactly what the book’s title states. If you as a husband want to fight for your marriage, here are the Biblical principles to win back your wife. Whatever the state of your marriage, you can practice these time-honored principles to be a truly Christian husband. Josef hits home on principles such as self-sacrificial love and the greatness of serving others, including one’s wife. Selfless sacrificial love promotes a great marriage and espouses a life principle: you love your wife with agape love, and let God meet your needs as a husband. Josef rightly emphasizes that the quality of your marriage is directly related to your walk with the Lord—taking up your cross daily and walking according to the Bible.

“An intellectual, thought-provoking read that embraces both personal faith and marriage. This book will help any husband grow his understanding of marriage through growth with God.”
Spencer Taylor, Worship Director
This is not a book of clichés or rigid formulas; instead, it invites men to lead with love, serve with strength, and grow in unity with their wives as partners in faith. Whether you’re newly married or for decades, this book is for any man seeking to honor God in his marriage.
Carlos Perez, Jr., Husband
Marriage is a vocation. Through marriage we find love in and from our spouse that is deeply fulfilling. Yet, like all vocations, marriage takes commitment and work to succeed. Saint Thomas Aquinas once said that “…love is willing the good of the other.” Through marriage, a husband can will and work on the ultimate good of his wife: attainment of eternal life in heaven. In Marriage is Worth the Fight, Josef Kauzlarich walks men through his journey on the pathway to loving one’s spouse. He shares personal struggles and exceptional insights so that men can better understand marriage as a unique commitment to their wife. Recognizing that successful marriages take hard work, Josef’s practical advice, grounded in scripture and faith, makes this book a must-read for men at all stages of marriage. If you are serious about improving your marriage and becoming a better husband, then this is a must-read.
